Hoi An is blessed with abundant sunshine and a warm tropical climate. At the same time, this means electricity demand can be high, especially during warmer periods when homes, businesses, and public spaces rely on cooling systems.
By using energy thoughtfully, we can help reduce unnecessary consumption and contribute to a more balanced use of resources within our community.
You can help by:

• Turning off lights, television, and electronic devices when not in use.
• Setting your air conditioning to a comfortable temperature. We recommend 24°C, which helps maintain comfort while using energy more efficiently.
• Closing doors and windows when using air conditioning to avoid energy loss.
• Keeping curtains closed during the hottest parts of the day to help maintain a cooler room temperature.
• Making use of Hoi An’s natural daylight whenever possible.
• Informing our reception team if you notice any equipment or lighting that may require attention.

Protect Water Resources
With its rivers and waterways, Hoi An may appear to have abundant water resources. However, changing weather patterns and dry seasons remind us that water is precious and should not be taken for granted.
By using water responsibly, we can help protect this important resource for our community today and for future generations.
You can help by:

• Turning off taps while brushing your teeth or shaving.
• Taking mindful showers and avoiding unnecessary water use.
• Reusing towels and linens when possible to reduce water, energy, and detergent consumption.
• Informing our team of any leaks or water-related issues so we can respond quickly.

With Hoi An’s year-round sunshine, using sunscreen is essential for skin protection. However, some sunscreen ingredients can harm marine life and coral reefs. When traveling, please consider choosing reef-safe alternatives to help protect our oceans.

Reduce Waste
Reducing waste begins with thoughtful choices in our daily lives. We invite you to join us by:

• Bringing reusable water bottles and personal items where possible.
• Our reception team will be happy to refill your water bottles free of charge.
• Using the refillable amenities and reusable glass water bottles provided in your room.
• Avoiding unnecessary packaging when shopping locally.
• Taking only what you need during meals to help reduce food waste.
• Sharing unused items that may be suitable for reuse or donation.

Travel Responsibly
Hoi An is a place of remarkable cultural heritage, from its ancient streets and traditional crafts to its temples, pagodas, and places of worship. We invite you to explore the town with respect and curiosity.
When visiting cultural and religious sites:

• Please dress appropriately and follow each location’s guidelines.
• Take time to learn about the history and traditions that make these places special.

Discovering Hoi An by bicycle is one of the best ways to experience its charming streets, countryside landscapes, and local way of life at a slower pace. Complimentary bicycles are available for our guests; please contact our reception team to reserve one.

You can also help preserve Hoi An’s heritage by supporting local artisans, traditional crafts, and community businesses. We understand that finding authentic makers among the many shops in town can be challenging, so our reception team will be happy to share recommendations and introduce you to local stories behind these traditions.
We encourage our guests to choose responsible travel experiences and avoid any activities that may harm the welfare of children, such as unregulated orphanage visits.
Please respect the privacy and dignity of local communities by asking for permission before taking photos or videos. For children, consent must always be provided by their parent or legal guardian.

We are committed to protecting children and believe that we all have a role to play in helping end child abuse and exploitation. Our staff are trained to recognize the signs of suspected child abuse or exploitation and to report any concerns to the appropriate local authorities.
